Goun first studied painting with Chikudō Kishi then with Seihō Takeuchi. Goun used the nihonga painting style for his art and twenty-eight of his flower and (or) bird paintings are shown here. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Goun used the horizontal format for many of his paintings which was unusual for scroll painters.
